    LOUISVILLE, KY, Nov. 9 /PRNewswire/ - On Friday, October 27, 2000, The
Riverside Company, through one of its affiliates, acquired the ATC
Distribution Group, Inc. from The Aftermarket Technology Corporation of
Westmont Illinois. ATC Distribution Group is the market leader in North
America for the supply of Transmission Parts and Services to the automotive
transmission repair industry.
    Mr. Ted Kachel, a partner of the Riverside Company, has been appointed
C.E.O. of the newly acquired company. Mr. Kachel stated that: "We are very

    The Distribution Group of ATC distributes automotive transmission repair
parts, including torque converters and other remanufactured hard parts and
soft parts to independent transmission repair shops. Distribution Group
maintains 41 branches in 24 states. It operates 2 torque converter
remanufacturing centers, 3 distribution centers as well as several hard part
remanufacturing centers, kitting operations and the All-Trans Manual
Transmission business unit. Through its King-0-Matic subsidiary, it operates 5
branches and 1 distribution center in Canada.
