Cooper Tire & USWA Reach New Labor Agreement
FINDLAY, Ohio--Nov. 8, 2000--Cooper Tire & Rubber Company today announced that a new three-year contract between Cooper Tire & Rubber Company and the United Steelworkers of America (USWA) Local 207L was ratified by the union members, Tuesday, November 7, 2000.The settlement covers approximately 960 active employees and 550 retirees of the bargaining unit at Cooper's Findlay plant.
Frank Cline, President of the local, Jim Geers, Corporate Vice President Human Resources, and Mike Delaney, Industrial Relations Manager for the Findlay plant, in a joint statement following ratification of the pact, said the contract continues a cost-of-living provision and provides for a general wage increase in each of the three years. In addition, the agreement provides improvements in pensions, 401(k) plan and life insurance as well as other employee benefits.
Specific details of the agreement are not being released.
