    LAFAYETTE, Colo.--Nov. 8, 2000--In a unique collaborative effort, Lafayette, Colo.-based web development firm A Net Presence, Inc. (www.anpweb.com) and Boulder, Colo.-based automotive services business John's 4x4 Center, Inc. (www.johns4x4.com) teamed up to surpass the industry-standard "brochure" web site and created a highly functional, customer service-oriented web site.
    www.Johns4x4.com, launched in late October, has been selected by AutoInc. Magazine as the "Shop Site of the Month" for December 2000. It is also a finalist for AutoInc. "Website of the Year." Some of the web site's features that go beyond the usual automotive shop-site fare include on-line service appointment scheduling, virtual service records for customers' vehicle maintenance, on-line secure payment options for service, parts and accessories, and an employment opportunities section with on-line application functionality.
    "John's a forward-thinking guy. He really wanted to make an investment in customer service by adding functionality to better serve customers," says Kurt Eherenman, CEO of A Net Presence. "We also created a web-based interface that allows John to update key areas of the site himself via his browser, so that he can refresh sections like the 'Tip and Maintenance Guide' and Employment Opportunities frequently, without additional expense."
    Colby Horton, Web Specialist for AutoInc. Magazine, told John when he notified him of the award: "I was particularly impressed with your on-line invoice payment and virtual service records sections. Your site is truly ahead of its time as far as automotive repair shop sites are concerned."
