Introducing Autobatteries.com

Introducing Autobatteries.com
MILWAUKEE, Nov. 7 If you go on the Internet and type in
"car battery" over 1 million different sites come up. The problem -- more
than 1 million search results. The solution -- one site, Autobatteries.com.
Designed and launched by Johnson Controls ,
http://www.Autobatteries.com is a consumer site featuring practical battery
information.

    Why Autobatteries.com
Autobatteries.com is designed to fit consumers' needs, allowing them to
learn everything from where to buy a battery to how to store it -- all in one
place. Think of it as a one-stop-shop for battery information.
"Johnson Controls saw that the Internet lacked a site where consumers
could find accurate battery information quickly," said Lisa Franklin, Johnson
Controls Manager, Marketing Support Services. "This site offers consumers
useful information without having to jump from site to site to find it."

    Personalized Battery Information
Autobatteries.com is interactive, allowing users to personalize the
battery information they receive. By entering the year and make of their car,
the Battery Selector will help users find the proper battery for their
vehicle, then direct them to the closest retail location for purchase.
Autobatteries.com also encourages consumers to recognize problems before
they occur. By answering a few simple questions, users are able to give their
battery a "check-up" online. This Battery Health Check-up section serves as
an indicator to when a battery may need servicing, encouraging customers to
plan ahead.
In addition, the site's Battery Basics section acts as an educational tool
offering answers to frequently asked questions, solutions to why a car isn't
starting, maintenance and handling tips and information on a number of quality
brands.
Battery Basics offers more than just the basics. A virtual practice
session walks consumers through the steps of jumpstarting a battery, while an
interactive quiz tests users battery recycling knowledge.
Not only is Autobatteries.com easy to use, it is easy to find through many
leading search engines. Online users can enter keywords ranging from "car
battery" to "automotive repair" and be directed to Autobatteries.com.*

    Autobatteries.com Benefits Johnson Controls Customers
For battery retailers, Autobatteries.com will act as a sales tool, in turn
saving retailers valuable time. "The purpose of the site is to educate
consumers, then direct them to our retail partners," said Bill Nonnamaker,
Johnson Controls Vice President National Account Sales and Marketing, Battery.
"Online users will already be familiar with the retailer's specific batteries
and its features and benefits prior to visiting the store.
"Not only will the site educate consumers and help them select a battery,
but the store locator function will tell them directly where to go for
purchases," added Nonnamaker.
Autobatteries.com can also be used by retailers as a training tool. The
information on the site is versatile, allowing countermen and new personnel to
expand their general battery insight and brand knowledge.

Increasing Brand Presence on the Web
Battery information is available on the web, the problem is it's hard to
find. In some cases, battery information is "buried" on a retailer's web
site, forcing consumers to perform lengthy searches through unrelated material
to find the battery information they need.
Johnson Controls knows consumers' time is valuable and if they can't find
what they're looking for on a web site quickly, they will look somewhere else.
Autobatteries.com brings battery information up-front, making it accessible
for consumers.
"We have designed Autobatteries.com to act as a supplement, not a
replacement of retailers' existing sites," said Nonnamaker.
"Autobatteries.com also provides links to our customers' web sites, helping to
ensure that their brands will be seen in the fastest growing marketplace --
the Internet.
"For those retailers who do not have web sites, Autobatteries.com will
provide a brand presence for them on the web. This expands their traditional
demographics and increases their customer base by exposing online users to
their brands," added Nonnamaker.

    Continuing a Marketing Partnership
Johnson Controls prides itself on being more than just a battery
manufacturer -- it's a marketing partner. Over the years, Johnson Controls
has worked hard to maintain a strong relationship with its customers.
Autobatteries.com is another example of the partnership between Johnson
Controls and its retailers and is a continued step, by Johnson Controls, in
supporting its retail partners online.
