Transportation Components, Inc. Announces New Officer Appointments
    HOUSTON, Nov. 7 T. Michael Young, chairman and chief
executive officer of Transportation Components, Inc. (TransCom
USA) today announced two key management appointments.
    Jack Phelps, 56, has been promoted to Region Vice President of TransCom
USA and will be responsible for the company's Master Distribution Centers
(MDCs) in Memphis, Tennessee and Edison, New Jersey, and for the company's
operations in the Northeast.  The MDCs service many of TransCom USA's national
accounts.  Phelps was previously responsible for certain operations in the
company's central region.
    James Lockie, 47, has been promoted to Vice President -- National Accounts
and will have responsibility for TransCom's national sales efforts.  Lockie
was previously Region Sales Director for the company's Western Region.
    TransCom USA (http://www.transcomusa.net) is a leading national distributor of
replacement parts and supplies for commercial trucks, trailers, and other
heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.  The company also provides value-added
services, including remanufacturing, vehicle repair and machine shop services.
With 96 locations in the United States, Canada and Mexico, TransCom USA has a
customer base that includes common carriers, private and rental fleets,
