Viasystems Strengthens Global Management Team, Adds McAlister as Senior Vice President, Marketing

    ST. LOUIS--Nov. 7, 2000--John R. McAlister has joined Viasystems Group, Inc. as senior vice president of marketing, responsible for the company's worldwide strategic marketing direction. He will report to Timothy L. Conlon, Viasystems' president and chief operating officer.
    McAlister comes to Viasystems with more than 20 years of experience in sales and marketing. Most recently, he served as vice president, global marketing for FCI, a leading manufacturer of electrical connectors and interconnect systems. Prior to FCI, McAlister spent three years with Crain Industries as executive vice president of sales and marketing and general manager of the consumer products division. McAlister's broad experience also includes vice president business development and general manager, environmental applications for J.M Huber Corporation and commercial development manager for Petrolite Corporation.

    McAlister is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point with a degree in engineering. Additionally, McAlister is a graduate of the Advanced Executive Program at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and of the Executive Program in Competitive Strategy at the Harvard Business School.
