Amerigon Names Jurgen Brachetti VP European OperationsIRWINDALE, Calif., Nov. 7 Amerigon Incorporated today announced that Jurgen Brachetti, Ph. D., a veteran marketing and sales executive and engineer, has been named Vice President, European Operations, effective immediately. Dr. Brachetti, 41, will oversee all European business for Amerigon, a developer, manufacturer and marketer of proprietary, high technology products for automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) around the world. He will report directly to Amerigon Vice President, Marketing Daniel R. Coker. Dr. Brachetti's career includes a number of years working with such major automotive manufacturers as General Motors, Ford, Daimler-Chrysler, BMW, Renault, Peugot and Fiat. For the past two years, Dr. Brachetti has served as a technology consultant in Europe advising industry and municipal governments on telematics and e-commerce initiatives. Prior to that he was the Managing Director, Sales and Marketing, for Mannesmann Autocom in Dusseldorf where he managed a 50-person team and did market entry planning, determined sales revenue potentials of various market segments, built sales and marketing concepts and handled public relations. "Jurgen is a proven veteran of the OEM business as well as a successful manager and communications executive," Coker said. "He has the sales, marketing and technical expertise we need for what we see as a rapidly expanding market for our products throughout Europe." From 1996-1997, Dr. Brachetti was Sales Director and Account Manager for Hella Hueck KG in Lippstadt, Germany where he managed the work of 30 employees and worked with worldwide OEM customers of General Motors, Ford and Chrysler. Dr. Brachetti spent seven years, from 1989-1996, working for Robert Bosch GmbH in different locations in Germany and England. He handled sales of motor directional systems in Stuttgart for French customers, worked in external sales and customer relations with Ford Europe in Cologne and worked in external technical sales in London. In Hildesheim, Germany, he was sales department head where he won plaudits for growing sales revenue working with OEM customers of Renault, Fiat, Ford and Chrysler. He is a graduate of the University of Kaiserslautern with degrees in electro technology, and communications technology and he has a doctorate in engineering. Dr. Brachetti speaks German, French, Spanish and English. He resides in Dusseldorf.
