Johnson Controls Completes Acquisition of Gylling Optima Batteries AB
    MILWAUKEE, Nov. 6 Johnson Controls, Inc. ,
today announced that it that it has completed its acquisition of Gylling
Optima Batteries AB, a manufacturer of high performance spiral wound lead-acid
batteries.
    Shareholders tendered over 99 percent of Gylling Optima shares under a
tender offer that expired October 27, 2000.  Johnson Controls paid
approximately $58 million in cash for these shares.  The company said that all
the requirements of the offer as detailed in the prospectus have been met.
Shareholders will be sent payment for their shares on November 8, 2000.
Gylling Optima will be delisted from the Stockholm Stock Exchange O-List on
November 13, 2000.
