Expanding Overseas: Commerce Department Offers Advice, Networking Opportunities at Nov. 8 Program in Dearborn, Mich.
DETROIT, Nov. 6 Area automotive businesses anxious to
expand into overseas markets are able to get a quick start very close to home
this week, thanks to the U.S. Department of Commerce.
In an all-day program on Wednesday, November 8 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel
in Dearborn, the Department's Commercial Service is offering one-on-one 30-
minute meetings and lunch with its Automotive Specialists from U.S. Embassies
in 19 countries in Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Western Hemisphere.
Let's say you want your company to establish an operation in Thailand (or
China, or Brazil, or Hungary, or wherever) because your customers are there
and you're not, or because your competitors are there and you're not. Or,
maybe your competitors are not there and you want to beat them to it -- or
maybe you just want to make sure you get a share of the growth in new markets
around the world. Commerce's experts can help with advice, and with network
access that can lead to introductions to potential local partners.
The keynote speaker during lunch will be Charles McCallum, partner with
the Law Offices of Warner, Norcross and Judd. His topic will be, "The Five
Mistakes Most Companies Make When They Enter New Markets."
Businesses can obtain more information about the November 8 program and
still can register to meet with the Country Specialist(s) of their choice by
contacting the U.S. Commercial Service's Detroit office on 313-226-3650.
