Lear Corporation Appoints Christopher J. Obey Vice President - International PurchasingSOUTHFIELD, Mich., Nov. 6 Lear Corporation today announced the appointment of Christopher J. Obey, to Vice President - International Purchasing, reporting to Lear Vice President Global Purchasing, Steve Hayworth. As Vice President - International Purchasing, Obey will maintain responsibility for Lear's purchasing activities in Europe and will assume responsibility for Asia-Pacific purchasing. He is based at the company's international headquarters in Sulzbach, Germany. Obey joined Lear in 1997 as Director of Purchasing - Mechanisms and most recently served as Director - European Purchasing. Prior to joining Lear, Obey was employed by MTD Products Inc. where he held various management positions of increasing responsibility in operations, marketing and finance. Obey earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration degree in Strategic Management from Baldwin - Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. He and his wife, Sharon, reside in Konigstein, Germany with their daughter.
