Hydrotex Matches Allison Transmission Warranty

CARROLLTON, Texas--Nov. 3, 2000--Hydrotex, Your Lubrication Solution Partners(TM) headquartered in Carrollton, Texas announces a new company policy in response to Allison Transmissions' revised C4 approvals.
"Our policy is simple, if you use either Hy-Torque(R) or Hy-Torque Gold(R) in a new or used Allison Transmission according to our instructions, Hydrotex will match your current Allison warranty including extended drain warranties. Our customers have a legal right to choose a superior fluid. Our decision is to support our current customers and future customers who may feel threatened about a recent Allison action," announced John Beasley, President and CEO of Hydrotex.
"Allison continues to change their story on the reason for their action to remove tractor hydraulic fluid (THFs), which includes Hy-Torque and Hy-Torque Gold, from their approval list. Recently Allison stated that the 'problems' were wear problems when a THF multifunction fluid was used as a service fill. Earlier this week, according to industry insiders, Allison reported a decade of wear problems in school buses," continued Beasley. "Hydrotex has thousands of school buses throughout the United States using our transmission fluids and we have not had any lubrication related failures or evidence of abnormal transmission wear reported. In data gathered by our customers over many years, Hy-Torque reduces wear and significantly lowers operating temperatures when tested against Allison's TranSynd(TM) and other competitive products," added Beasley.
"Hydrotex is a leading supplier of lubricants to the school bus, waste disposal, fire truck, and urban transportation industries, just to name a few. Hy-Torque and Hy-Torque Gold, with field proven performance, exceeds the hydraulic systems, gearbox and transmission requirements for virtually all major manufacturers," explained John Cummins, Vice President Product Technology for Hydrotex. "The exclusion of Hy-Torque and Hy-Torque Gold from the Allison C4 approval list may be their response to disappointing results from TranSynd in field tests sponsored by a leading Texas school district and one of the country's largest waste disposal organizations," Cummins continued.
