Inspection Stations Announce Holiday Closings

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J.--Nov. 3, 2000--Motor vehicle inspection stations statewide will be closed in observance of the following holidays: Election Day, Nov. 7, Veteran's Day, Nov. 10, Thanksgiving, Nov. 23 and Christmas, Dec. 25.
Standard hours of operation for non-appointment inspection stations are from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with late night hours until 7:30 p.m. once a week. The facilities are also open from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturdays. Appointment-only stations: Bridgeton, Cape May, Montclair, Ridgewood, Salem, Washington (Warren County) and Westfield operate from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with late night hours until 7:30 p.m. once a week. Appointment-only stations are also open from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturdays.
Motorists may call, toll-free, 1-888-NJ MOTOR (those outside the state can call 609-895-6886), or visit www.cleanairnj.org with questions about a specific facility's late night and/or the new inspection program. Questions regarding licensing, registration, title, etc., should still be directed to the current NJ motor vehicle services' toll free number, 1-888-486-3339.
When arriving at the inspection station, have all your paperwork, a current driver's license, registration and insurance card ready for the inspector. Your registration doesn't have to be new, just valid. And remember: inspection stations are busiest at the end of the month and at lunchtime.
