MetLife Auto & Home and MADD Kick Off Red Ribbon Campaign in Massachusetts To Promote Safe Driving During HolidaysMeet Snoopy(TM) at the campaign kick-off at the New England Auto Show WARWICK, R.I., Nov. 2 In an effort to promote the need for alcohol-free driving during the festive holiday season, MetLife Auto & Home is teaming up with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) in Massachusetts to ask the public to "Tie One On for Safety" during the holidays. Every year, thousands of people across the country die in auto crashes after drinking alcohol - - many of those during the holidays. "Activities like our holiday campaign help increase the awareness of the general public and the government about the crime of driving drunk." Since it was established in 1980, MADD has championed the passage of more than 2,300 anti-drunk driving laws. On October 23, President Clinton, with the support of MADD, signed a federal law that will require each state to pass a .08 blood alcohol concentration (BAC) or lose a portion of their federal highway funding. "MetLife Auto & Home is honored to support MADD and the Red Ribbon campaign in Massachusetts," said Vice President, John Rutecki. "It's one more way our company can help promote public safety." Snoopy Joins Campaign Kick-Off at New England Auto Show MADD of Massachusetts is launching the Red Ribbon campaign at the New England Auto Show at the Boston Expo Center, Saturday, November 4 through Sunday, November 19.
