American Suzuki Year-to-Date Sales 27-Percent Ahead of 1999; Monthly Sales 'Hiccup' in Year of Record-Breaking Sales
BREA, Calif., Nov. 2 American Suzuki Motor Corporation's
October sales cooled resulting in a 1-percent decline compared to sales for
the same month last year, as the Corporation's year-to-date sales finished the
month 27-percent ahead of 1999. Esteem Wagons and Sedans continued to sell
well, notching 1,151 sales -- a 23-percent increase over October 1999 sales.
Grand Vitara sales slipped 4 percent from October 1999, posting 2,407 sales
for the month.
"Although we experienced a slight decline in sales last month, American
Suzuki's year-to-date sales are still 27-percent ahead of last year," said
Gary Anderson, American Suzuki vice president of sales. "November sales will
be up, and we will finish the year far ahead of 1999."
The Automotive Division of American Suzuki Motor Corporation (ASMC), Brea,
Calif., was founded in 1985 by Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC). ASMC markets
automobiles in the United States through a network of more than 390 automotive
dealerships in 49 states.
