Collins & Aikman Receives Toyota Quality Alliance Gold Award
TROY, Mich.--Nov. 2, 2000--Collins & Aikman Corporation today announced that it is a recipient of a Toyota Quality Alliance (TQA) Gold Supplier Award for the year 2000. This award was presented to the Company's North American Automotive Interior Systems Division's Accessory Mat Operations during Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A.'s yearly Supplier Award Ceremony held in Scottsdale, Ariz. At the ceremony, Steve Sehmer, Product Manager, Accessory Mats, accepted the award on behalf of the Company. The Toyota Quality Alliance (TQA) Award is given to suppliers that demonstrate "an unwavering commitment to excellence in products, service and support," said Sehmer.Collins & Aikman received the Gold Award for its contributions to product quality, on-time delivery, marketing/communications and exceptional program management. "To receive this prestigious recognition is testimony of the dedication and commitment of all Collins & Aikman employees to exceed our customer's expectations. I'm extremely proud of the efforts of the team at our Holmesville (Ohio) manufacturing facility," commented Holmesville Plant Manager, Ken Brower.
The Holmesville facility supplied nearly one million sets of accessory mats for Toyota and Lexus vehicles in fiscal year 2000; making Collins & Aikman one of Toyota's largest suppliers of parts and accessories. "The team at Collins & Aikman Accessory Mat Operations is extremely proud of this recognition," said Sehmer.
