Audi Reports October Sales - 2000 Year-to-Date Sales Breaks Through 1999 Calendar Year Sales
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Nov. 2 With October 2000 sales of
6,100, Audi of America, Inc. has surpassed total 1999 sales. Audi is marking
its best year-to-date in the company's history with sales of 66,376, up 24
percent. October sales are slightly down from October 1999 sales of 6,763 due
to limited availability of vehicles across the model line.
October sales mark the launch of the new Audi allroad quattro, a crossover
vehicle offering customers the best of both on- and off-road performance. The
national launch of the allroad will happen in November, but some Audi dealers
were able to sell early supply and reported sales of 70 for October.
Audi's hot-selling TT posted major monthly sales gains with October sales
of 1,202, up 118 percent over last year's sales of 552.
From the A6 range, sales were 2,196, down 18 percent over the same month
last year when sales totaled 2,666. The Audi A4 reported sales of 2,457 for
the month, down 24 percent.
Audi's all-aluminum flagship A8 reported total sales of 175. In October,
the A8 L accounted for 82 percent of all A8 sales.
