Fmeconnect(TM) also becomes the entry point through which European aftermarket distributors and wholesalers can order products and check order status online. Federal-Mogul distributors can access fmeconnect(TM) from the company's existing Web site, http://www.federal-mogul.com . Distributors must have passwords to access some portions of fmeconnect(TM). "Fmeconnect(TM) is a major step in our drive to create e-business solutions that allow customers to do business with Federal-Mogul more quickly and efficiently," said Kimberly Welch, vice president, electronic business and communications. "Fmeconnect(TM) will be the online doorway through which aftermarket customers around the world interact with Federal-Mogul for information, resources and transactions." For North American distributors, fmeconnect(TM) initially provides access to technical, product, financial, training, marketing and publications services. In the first phase of fmeconnect(TM), distributors can view electronic catalogs, download marketing and product support materials, search technical service bulletins, register for training, view marketing programs and policies, and correspond with company contacts. "We're excited to have a single Web-based communication link with our North American distributors, while providing them with the online tools and resources to help them grow their business," said Robert Egan, vice president, aftermarket sales - Americas. "These services are based on significant customer input and utilization of Internet technology," Egan added, noting that initial distributor feedback has been excellent. "We plan to enhance and expand fmeconnect(TM) based on our customers' changing needs," he said. Federal-Mogul's major aftermarket brand products in North America include Champion(R) spark plugs, Fel-Pro(R) gaskets, Wagner(R) brake products, Anco(R) wiper products, Moog(R) chassis parts and Sealed Power(R) engine components.
