DataDetroit.com (CAR-eers.com) Looking for Buyer

DataDetroit.com (CAR-eers.com) Looking for BuyerDETROIT, Oct. 31 Thomas Feeney, President of DataDetroit.com, today announced that the automotive specific Internet job board marketed under the names DataDetroit.com and CAR-eers.com was looking for a buyer to purchase the two year old company. Mr. Feeney cited a list of reasons ranging from local Venture Capital Funds unwilling to invest in national funds not realizing the size of the global automotive employment market. "We get asked a lot how we can compete against Monster.com," said Feeney. "Monster.com is to DataDetroit what Microsoft is to a small software company writing individual solution based programs. We saw the shift in how people use Internet job boards that was described in the article 'A Better Way to Float Your Resume' in the October 9, 2000 issue of Business Week magazine." The article identified how people were having more success using targeted niche job boards as opposed to the all-things-to-all-people boards. Alex Salkever, who authored the Business Week article, said this was true for both employers and job seekers. Salkever also identified that some of the niche job boards are tied to industry specific publications. "We totally believe in this business model and we know we've developed a good product," says Feeney. "Somebody is going to do this segment really well, real soon. We'd like to see somebody do it with CAR-eers.com. "We offer to a potential buyer an up and running operation at a fraction of the cost it would take to create it, two years of brand marketing, and a proven Internet business model."
