LAS VEGAS, NV, Oct. 31 /PRNewswire/ - ATC Technologies Corporation is
demonstrating its autoWEBtech Productivity Portal(TM) this week at private
showings in Las Vegas, Nevada, during the Automotive Aftermarket Industry
Association (AAIA) trade show.
Called AAPEX 2000 (Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo), this is the
world's largest trade-only aftermarket exhibition with nearly 4,000 exhibitors
and attended by over 80,000 industry professionals.
ATC President Dale Bishop explained how the autoWEBtech demonstration
works "The demo is wired to a specific car and includes various trouble codes
and symptomatic problems to solve. That's important, given how many times all
of us will go to a mechanic and simply say 'it's doing this...can you fix it?'
autoWEBtech accompanies the mechanic through the work process, delivering
diagnostics, solutions and repair procedures directly into his hands through a
handheld computer tablet.
Look under the hood of any late model car and count the number of
electronic components. Then count the number of makes. There is a need here,
ATC is working to meet it, and everyone from garage owner to car owner stands
to benefit."
Several major automobile manufacturers, tool companies, and automotive
repair information distributors have made appointments to experience the
demonstration.
According to research done by the AAIA and Babcox Research, the U.S.
automotive repair aftermarket measures in excess of US$110 billion in repair
and service billings annually and that better than 46% of the service
technicians out there are willing to pay for technical information on the
Internet.
While in Las Vegas, the demonstration unit is hooked into the Internet
through autoWEBtech consortium member InfoCast, as it will be in an actual
garage, and pulls down live diagnostic information for the demo vehicle.
