LAS VEGAS--Oct. 31, 2000--TRW's North American Independent Aftermarket business, AUTOSPECIALITY, has appointed John Mullins to lead the business as general manager.
AUTOSPECIALTY, located in Carson, Calif., provides braking, steering and suspension, and clutch parts and service in the AUTOSPECIALTY brand to the independent aftermarket (IAM).
Formerly general manager, sales and distribution, for TRW's market-leading European aftermarket business, Mullins, 35, from Ponca City, Okla., has held a variety of roles within TRW and the former LucasVarity/Kelsey-Hayes since joining the Company in 1991. His experience includes international assignments in Japan as well as his time in Europe in product engineering, demand chain and sales.
He said, "I look forward to the challenges offered in a role within the most dynamic aftermarket industry in the world. TRW's IAM business has tremendous growth opportunities and I will be using the experience gained from our highly successful European business to capitalize on the potential for the North American business."
"It is an exciting time for us as we have recently introduced a remanufactured rack and pinion program in the AUTOSPECIALTY brand, based on TRW's leading original equipment position. By adding further chassis products to our already strong braking position, TRW aims to be the leading provider of chassis systems in the global automotive aftermarket."
Mullins has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University and a Master of International Business Studies from the University of South Carolina.
