CINCINNATI--Oct. 30, 2000--SDRC , a global supplier of e-business collaboration solutions for the product lifecycle, today announced that Briggs & Stratton has expanded its Metaphase(R) product knowledge management (PKM) deployment from 350 to 1550 users. One of SDRC's earliest Metaphase customers, Briggs & Stratton uses Metaphase to manage all of its CAD data, including Pro/ENGINEER and AutoCAD, and is expanding its Metaphase deployment to also manage manufacturing tool drawings.
"Metaphase has enabled us to decrease engineering change request processing time from an estimated six weeks to two weeks," said Jay Shaffer, manager, I.T., Briggs & Stratton. "This encouraged us to expand our Metaphase implementation."
"As one of SDRC's earliest Metaphase customers, Briggs & Stratton is a clear example of the return on investment to be gained through Metaphase product knowledge management," said Bill Weyand, chairman and CEO, SDRC. "We look forward to expanding our data management role at Briggs & Stratton."
