Rep. Joe Knollenberg represents the 8th district of Michigan, including much of southwestern Oakland County and part of Wayne County. Fannie Mae (FNM/NYSE), the nation's largest source of financing for home mortgages, has committed to invest $1 billion in Detroit neighborhoods over the next seven years. During its first three years in Detroit, the company invested over $500 million, serving nearly 10,000 Detroit families.
