ReplayTV Inc. Picks Up Ford Motor Co. As Personal TV Advertiser on ReplayTV Service; World's Most-Recognized Truck Brand Connects With Consumers Via ReplayTV Service

    MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--Oct. 25, 2000--Whether it's Mustang or Minivan ads, ReplayTV Inc. and Ford Motor Co. know consumers prefer commercials about products they may want to buy, so the two companies are doing something about it. ReplayTV Inc., the leader in personal television, announced today it has signed Ford Motor Co. to its growing list of leading national advertisers. Ford's advertising campaign will make its national debut via the free ReplayTV Service in November. The ReplayTV Service and digital video recorder give viewers the television viewing experience they want and allow them to watch what they want at anytime.
    Ford will choose from a full range of advertising options offered by the ReplayTV Service, including title sponsorship of an editorial ReplayZone, pre-loaded content, banner ads and call-to-action screens that let viewers find more information on cars and trucks. Interactive television advertising will expand on the ReplayTV Service, and future plans will allow all advertisers to personalize their messages to viewers.

    The free ReplayTV Service guarantees viewers will never miss their favorite shows by giving them the ability to create their own on-demand television schedules filled with shows and movies they have picked. With the ReplayTV Service, viewers can create their own personal channels, such as a "Friends" channel, where the latest episode of the show is always available for viewing. ReplayZones provide category listings that make it easy to find and record the best of what's on TV, whether it's movies, sitcoms, sports, cartoons, or any other TV category. A real-time key-word search, lets viewers find their favorite titles, subjects, actors or directors, then ReplayTV records these old or new favorites. The ReplayTV Service includes the recently introduced MyReplayTV, a web portal where viewers can find out about TV programming, gather additional information about shows of interest and control the ReplayTV Service and digital video recorder via the Internet.
