Visteon Honored by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency For Superintegration(TM)DEARBORN, Mich., Oct. 25 Visteon Corporation's commitment to delivering environmentally friendly products and technologies has been recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Visteon will be presented with the EPA's prestigious Climate Protection Award for Superintegration(TM) technology at an awards dinner on Oct. 31 in Washington, D.C. "We are very proud to be honored by the EPA for our efforts to develop products and technologies like Superintegration, that protect the environment and also benefit our customers by reducing cost and improving quality. It's a win-win situation for everyone," said Gary Mayo, director of Environmental Affairs for Visteon. "As a global corporation, we are committed to doing our part to help improve the environment worldwide." Superintegration(TM) is a unique integrated approach that results in a system with dramatically fewer components, significantly reduced weight, and improved performance and quality. This approach reduces cost and weight and improves reliability by up to 15% for the average customer. In a vehicle system, weight reduction typically translates directly into higher fuel efficiency and reduced vehicle emissions. In addition to requiring fewer materials, Superintegration also allows for greater use of recovered, reused and recycled materials. Visteon is one of only eight corporations worldwide to receive this award. The winners were evaluated by EPA staff and judged by an international panel of representatives from industry, government, and international non- governmental organizations. The final selection of award winners was decided by the EPA. Visteon Corporation is a leading full-service supplier that delivers consumer-driven technology solutions to automotive manufacturers worldwide and through multiple channels within the global automotive aftermarket.
