Paciolan's e.Venue Software Enables Dover Downs Fans to Buy Speedway Tickets Online

LONG BEACH, Calif.--Oct. 25, 2000--Dover Downs International Speedway fans can now buy and renew tickets online thanks to Paciolan's e.Venue(TM) software.
Dover Downs Entertainment Inc., owner and manager of five international speedways, has installed e.Venue software on its Dover Downs International Speedway Web site to enable ticket purchases online.
The other four venues -- Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, Memphis Motorsports Park, Nashville Speedway USA and Gateway International Raceway in St. Louis -- will have online ticket selling capabilities soon.
"Dover Downs Entertainment Inc. is very happy to be entering into a new and expanded relationship with Paciolan," said Ed Sutor, executive vice president of Dover Downs Entertainment. "It will enable us to offer a very convenient way for our customers to purchase and renew their tickets for our motorsport events."
e.Venue is an add-on module that complements existing ticketing applications from Paciolan, which can then be customized to suit each venue's needs. The Dover Downs International Speedway Web site is using the e.Venue system to sell season ticket renewals and single-event tickets online.
A layout of each racing venue will allow fans to choose the seats they want, whether they're facing the front stretch or on turn two.
"Paciolan is excited that Dover Downs has also chosen e.Venue to provide customers with a convenient way to purchase tickets, while maintaining a completely venue-controlled Web site," said Jane Kleinberger, president of Paciolan. "This confirms the appeal of buying tickets over the Internet -- across a wide variety of markets."
Every year, Dover Downs Entertainment race venues host 15 major events sanctioned by NASCAR, NHRA and CART. Other events at the tracks include harness racing and concerts. With so many events throughout the year, Dover Downs officials say automating ticket purchases and renewals will help lower overhead costs and make buying tickets more convenient for fans.
Earlier this month, Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee, signed a multi-year exclusive contract with Paciolan to provide e.Venue.
