California State Automobile Association Licenses CSC's COLOSSUS SystemAUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 24 Computer Sciences Corporation announced today that the California State Automobile Association (CSAA) has signed a multi-year agreement to license COLOSSUS(TM), CSC's Web-based expert system for evaluating bodily injury claims. CSAA is the American Automobile Association organization serving Northern California, Nevada and Utah. COLOSSUS, which is used to help assimilate and examine facts relevant to bodily injury claims, is the insurance industry's most comprehensive knowledge-based claims evaluation system. The software uses more than 10,000 rules to apply its claims, medical and legal expertise to help novice and seasoned claims professionals when making claims settlements. "COLOSSUS is an excellent cost-containment tool that will serve our members well because it will help us provide prompt, fair and equitable claims adjustment," said Bruce Cunningham, business line development manager for CSAA. "COLOSSUS makes it easy to train people and ensures that they follow consistent claims adjusting practices. "We chose the system because it fits well with the way we're doing business today. Our claims employees work in virtual offices and will be able to access the Web-enabled system wherever they are."
