Terion Tracks America's Solar Challenge; Terion and Knight Transportation Sponsor the America's Solar Challenge

MELBOURNE, Fla.--Oct. 24, 2000--Terion, Inc. is providing real-time vehicle tracking of all of the Solar Challenge entries. Each vehicle will be equipped with Terion's FleetView(tm) cellular based location and asset management system as used in the transportation industry for trailer tracking and monitoring. Real-time tracking data will be available through Terion's unique web software, on a Solar Challenge branded page accessible from the Solar Challenge Internet site http://www.formulasun.org/. Knight Transportation and Terion are sharing the underwriting for providing vehicle tracking.
With its compact antenna configuration, light weight, and extremely low power consumption the FleetView is particularly well suited to the unique requirements of solar powered cars. The embedded mobile unit software is configurable and can be completely updated or changed over-the-air. The system's "back office" software is web-based with an XML interface for legacy system integration. The web software provides for customized system analysis, reporting, and configuration, and features multi-company branding capability to serve multiple vertical markets via a common Windows NT-based platform. Terion will host the software on an application service provider basis as part of the sponsorship.
The University of Arizona Solar Racing Team car will be on display in the Terion booth at the 2000 ATA Management Conference & Exhibition in San Diego October 28-November 1.
