J.B. Hunt Driver Honored for Three-Million Mile Safety Record; All Safe Drivers Recognized
LOWELL, Ark.--Oct. 23, 2000--J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc., announced its 2000 second and third quarter million mile safe drivers, including the second three-million mile safe driver in the company's history, Tommy Whitman. Whitman, a 23-year J.B. Hunt veteran driver, was honored at a surprise reception at the corporate offices in Lowell, Ark."J.B. Hunt is honored to recognize Tommy Whitman as our second three-million mile driver," said Kirk Thompson, chief executive officer of J.B. Hunt. "Drivers like Tommy and all our million-mile drivers play a key role in ensuring on-the-road safety," said Thompson.
The company rewards driver safety by recognizing those who drive one million safe miles with a cash award of $5,000. Drivers reaching two million safe miles with the company receive $10,000, and drivers reaching three million safe miles with the company receive $20,000. Currently J.B. Hunt has 726 one-million mile drivers, 27 two-million mile drivers and two three-million mile drivers on the road today.
J.B. Hunt drivers reaching the two-million safe miles mark during the second quarter are: Larry Allen and Eugene Hankins. Drivers reaching the two-million safe miles mark during the third quarter are: Orville Gregory, Fred Davis and Jerry Warren.
