Clarification: Les Schwab to Continue Replacing Firestone Tires Covered Under Consumer AlertPRINEVILLE, Ore., Oct. 20 In clarification of a release dated October 17, Les Schwab said today that its dealers will continue replacing the Firestone tires that were listed under a federal consumer advisory last month. Contrary to information previously released to the public, these tires, including certain ATX, Firehawk ATX, ATX 23 Degree, Widetrack Radial and Wilderness tires, were not added to a recall list, but continue to be replaced on a voluntary basis by Firestone. For a complete list of the tires affected, customers may consult their local Les Schwab dealer or procure a list from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Web site at http://www.nhtsa.com. Tire owners wishing to replace tires listed under the consumer alert may do so at any of the more than 300 Les Schwab locations in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Northern California, and Nevada.
