SAG shuts Illinois Ford Plant
20 October 2000
Ford Assembly Plant in Chicago Shut Down By Striking Actors A Ford Assembly plant in Suburban Chicago was shut down for a few hours on Wednesday when truck drivers who were delivering parts to the plant honored the picket line set up by SAG (Screen Actors Guild) members. SAG has been on strike for the last five months. Although Ford had originally honored the strike, they have resumed authorizing the production of commercials that use non-union talent, precipitating the action.
