SEMA Announces Seminar and Press Conference Schedule for 2000 SEMA ShowEducational Seminars Cover Broad Range of Business Topics And Press Conference Lineup Includes Major OEM Announcements LAS VEGAS, Oct. 20 The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) announces its seminar and press conference schedule to help attendees better prepare for the SEMA Show exhibit days on October 31 -- November 3. Exhibitors, attendees and media can preview these activities by accessing the association's official show website at http://www.semashow.com. "Given the array of SEMA Show attendees, who represent a vast cross section of industries, these seminars will serve as a vital informational and educational resource," said SEMA Vice President of Consumer Affairs Chris Horn. "Whether you're a business executive, tire dealer or retail store manager, these seminars can help you run or manage your business better, or help you become a more effective and valuable employee." Designed to educate and inform anyone who attends the show, the seminars cover a broad range of topics including business strategies, tactics and trends. The week kicks-off on Monday, October 30 with an "Innovations in Business Management Day," featuring a luncheon hosted by Ford North American Car Vice President Chris Theodore. The full slate of seminars, geared for owners, managers and executives, are designed to help SEMA members run their businesses with maximum profitability. The additional seminars from Tuesday through Friday will focus on a wide variety of business topics such as effective advertising and product merchandising through the web. Motivational speaker Danny Cox will offer three free seminars discussing how to better set goals and become a leader and hero to customers. CPA Norm Gaither will also offer four seminars including topics on business accounting for nonfinancial managers; improving your cash flow and saving your business; and how to avoid bankruptcy. In addition to the educational seminars, SEMA's press conference schedule will feature major OEM announcements from Honda, General Motors, Ford, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Toyota and Hyundai. There will also be presentations and vehicle unveilings by several specialty equipment manufacturers including Toyo, Roush, Meguiar's, Holley Performance Products and Rhino Linings. Visitors can create their own individual itineraries on the SEMA Show web-site by clicking on the "Seminars/Special Events Builder" option, which will allow them to incorporate specific events, seminars and press conferences into their own schedule. SEMA is a trade group comprised of more than 4,400 member companies that make up the specialty automotive aftermarket industry. The seven diverse niches in which SEMA members specialize include light-truck, off-road, racing and performance, street rod and restoration and restyling. All combined the markets add up to $23.2 billion in retail business annually.
