Markethaus Inc. to Provide Internet-Based Hosted Applications Services to the Automotive Service Industry

    SEATTLE--Oct. 19, 2000--

New Seattle-based Technology Company Backed by Nearly $3 Million in Initial Funding

Markethaus Inc. (www.markethaus.net) today announced it has developed and will deliver Internet-based hosted applications services to the automotive service industry.
Leveraging the convenience of the Internet and power of database-driven technology, the company has developed customer relationship management (CRM) and business operations management systems to help automotive service centers more easily manage daily operations, improve and reward customer loyalty and cost-effectively increase customer retention and acquisition.
Markethaus also announced that it recently secured its series A round of funding with $2.5 million from Prince Sultan, Bin Faisal Bin Turki of Saudi Arabia. An additional $400,000 from an earlier seed round of funding was raised from private investors.
"Markethaus is a solid technology company led by a seasoned management team with experience in starting companies in the automotive, technology and marketing industries -- the cornerstones that will help make Markethaus a success," said Glenn Northrop, Markethaus president and chief executive officer. "We're aggregating our collective knowledge and experience to build a company that brings Internet- and database-technology solutions to the automotive service industry to help them improve both customer loyalty and the bottom line."
An automotive and technology industry veteran, Northrop brings more than 25 years of experience and leadership to Markethaus. Most recently senior vice president of corporate Internet strategies at Rapp Collins Worldwide, president and chief operating officer at Throw Inc. and founder of his own technology management firm that consulted with Internet startups DealerNet and Golf Travel Online, Northrop offers the company leadership experience in business strategy development, technology and organizational design and Internet applications.
Markethaus will bring together and deliver its hosted CRM and business operations management technologies directly to service centers and through its Internet portal, ServiceYourCar.com, to connect automotive service centers and automobile owners. Markethaus will launch a test market focusing on Northwest automotive service centers during the first quarter of 2001. The company will launch in the third quarter of 2001 the consumer side of the site, where automobile owners will be able to find a reliable service facility, compare pricing and schedule a convenient service appointment.
