Infiniti Presents 18th Annual San Francisco Jazz Festival
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 18 Infiniti, the luxury division of
Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) will be the presenting sponsor at this year's
upcoming San Francisco Jazz Festival which runs from October 25 to November 5.
This marks the fourth year of collaboration between the two unique
organizations, both devoted to customer satisfaction and the highest standards
of excellence in their respective fields.
The festival comprises a number of activities including concerts, club
shows, jazz cruises and dance parties. With funding from Infiniti, the
festival also will continue to provide a wide range of free public jazz
education programs for adults and children.
The 12-day event, plus two special events on November 18 and 19 in
Oakland, takes place throughout the city of San Francisco. It will kick off
at the Masonic Auditorium on October 25 with a milestone birthday tribute to
jazz vocal legend, Abbey Lincoln. Among the many other performers at the
festival are Jimmy Scott, Bobby McFerrin and Andrew Hill Sextet.
To complement the concerts, the festival committee produced a special
limited edition CD collection called the San Francisco Jazz Festival CD
Sampler, Volumes I - IV, which includes songs from many of this year's
performers. The CD collection is available at no charge exclusively at
participating Bay Area Infiniti Retailers from October 6 - December 31, 2000.
Additionally, San Francisco Jazz Members who reside in the Bay Area and
purchase an Infiniti vehicle at participating retailers during this timeframe
will receive a Bose(R) Wave Acoustic Music System free of charge.
"The San Francisco Jazz Festival is a wonderful opportunity for Infiniti
to show its commitment to the Bay area and to the appreciation of jazz and its
heritage," said Tom Orbe, vice president and general manager, Infiniti
Division. "We're proud to be the presenting sponsor for the fourth year in a
row and look forward to continuing our partnership through 2001."
The festival also hosts a number of free events based in the San Francisco
area and surrounding communities. These free concerts, open to the public,
take place from June through October in five locations around the city, and
include the Levi's Park Plaza Music Series and the Transamerica Redwood Park
