e-Vis(TM) from Unigraphics Solutions to Power Visual Collaboration for Covisint Automotive Exchange
Partnership Brings Secure, Internet-Enabled Visual Collaboration Solution
            To World's Largest Business-To-Business (B2B) Exchange

ST. LOUIS and DETROIT, Oct. 18 Unigraphics Solutions Inc.
and its wholly owned subsidiary, Engineering Animation, Inc., the
leading developer of visual collaboration solutions for e-commerce, today
announce that Covisint, the global on-line automotive exchange formed by Ford,
DaimlerChrysler AG, General Motors, Nissan and Renault SA, has chosen e-Vis to
power its visual collaboration service. The agreement makes e-Vis an
important building block in Covisint's strategy to offer best-in-class
solutions that enhance real-time collaboration and information exchange
between automotive OEMs and their suppliers.
"EAI's partnership with Covisint unleashes the power of visual
collaboration for a wider automotive audience," says EAI president Robert
Nierman. "We are pleased to have been selected by Covisint to provide this
vital component of their product offering and are committed to working with
them to bring the benefits of visual collaboration to their customers."
Offered as a tightly integrated component of Covisint's collaborative
product design service, e-Vis provides Covisint subscribers with secure
collaboration capability to help unify their company's product development
community and bring better products to market faster and at lower cost.
Throughout the product development process -- from design and procurement to
engineering change and the manufacturing floor -- the e-Vis suite of
visualization, measurement and markup tools link people across organizational
and geographical boundaries to develop ideas and understand issues in less
time, with greater clarity. e-Vis interactive conferencing helps Covisint
users make decisions without travel or delay, bringing them together in real
time on the Internet, securely sharing their desktop applications and their
2-D and 3-D product data across Unix and Windows platforms.
EAI has an established history providing best-in-class visual
collaboration solutions to major automotive manufacturers and their suppliers.
Central to EAI's success has been its skill in integrating data from all of
the major CAD and PDM providers and visualizing and distributing it in support
of a company's business processes. At the core of EAI's offering is Direct
Model, the de facto standard for sharing geometry over the Internet. By
incorporating e-Vis, Covisint is harnessing the power of Direct Model to
efficiently represent, distribute and display the complex 3-D product data
that drives automotive manufacturing. EAI's new JtStreaming(TM) technology
enables even complex models to begin drawing in seconds with data delivery
optimized to provide only the parts of the assembly of interest to the viewer.
"EAI is a recognized leader in providing visualization solutions to the
auto industry," says Bob Matulka, Covisint Product Development Team.
"Covisint looks forward to working closely with EAI and Unigraphics Solutions
to accelerate the use of Internet-based visual collaboration across the supply
chain to develop new vehicles."
