PPG PROSTARS Enhances Internet SitePITTSBURGH, Oct. 18 PPG PROSTARS -- the automotive replacement glass marketing alliance of retail glass shops led by PPG Industries, Inc. -- has enhanced and updated its website, http://www.ppgprostars.com, to provide even more useful functions and information for car owners. The new site organizes information in an easy-to-use format that allows users to access information at their own pace. By simply clicking on one of four buttons located on the homepage, site visitors can quickly access the information they need regarding automotive glass replacement and repair. Registered with all of the Web's leading search engines, the site can be pulled up with only a few keystrokes. Once on the site, the user can access a searchable list of dealer locations and phone numbers at any time. Visitors enter their area code and the first three digits of their home phone number in the boxes that appear at the top of every page, and the database lists PPG PROSTARS participants in the visitors calling area. "Our new site is visually attractive, dynamic, and full of useful information, including various checklists, to help consumers make informed choices in auto glass replacement and repair," says Paul Rice, Director of PPG PROSTARS. "But more importantly, the site is easy to navigate and quickly gives visitors contact information for nearby PPG PROSTARS locations." In addition to the dealer locator function, the new site includes information about: -- Critical auto glass safety matters and installation tips; -- Information to enable visitors to determine whether glass repair or replacement is needed; -- Insurance coverage and questions to ask that will determine the installer's experience and qualifications before work is done; -- Suggestions for a post-installation inspection; -- Performance benefits that come from selecting an OEM-quality replacement windshield; -- The qualification, value and technical expertise of PPG PROSTARS; -- Frequently asked questions. PPG, the nation's largest manufacturer of automotive replacement glass, introduced the PPG PROSTARS alliance in 1999. PPG PROSTARS participants are independently owned, certified automotive replacement glass retailers that support and benefit from national branding, marketing and sales efforts.
