Les Schwab to Replace Firestone Tires Added to Recall List
PRINEVILLE, Ore., Oct. 17 Following the recall of an
additional 1.4 million Firestone tires, Les Schwab Tire Centers said today
that company dealers will replace the tires free of charge. Les Schwab dealers
have been replacing the tires since they were listed under a federal consumer
advisory last month.
The tires, recalled yesterday under a multi-state agreement, were subject
to a September consumer advisory by the National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration (NHTSA). Included are certain ATX, Firehawk ATX, ATX 23 Degree,
Widetrack Radial and Wilderness tires. For a complete list of the tires
affected, customers may consult their local Les Schwab dealer or procure a
list from the NHTSA Web site at http://www.nhtsa.com.
Tire owners wishing to replace tires listed under the recall may do so at
any of the more than 300 Les Schwab locations in Oregon, Washington, Idaho,
Montana, Northern California, and Nevada. For specific store locations visit
the Les Schwab Web site at http://www.lesschwab.com.
Les Schwab is one of the largest chains of independent retail tire centers
in the U.S., employing nearly 7,000 full time employees in both company-owned
and dealer-owned stores.
