SingleSourceIT Unveils New User Interface; New Web Site Functionality Increases Speed, Ease of Doing Business in IT Lifecycle Management
COLUMBUS, Ohio--Oct. 17, 2000--SingleSourceIT, a Web-based information technology (IT) lifecycle management service, unveils its latest user interface this week. The new interface program enhances functionality for SingleSourceIT customers wanting to research, buy, manage and dispose of their IT assets over the Web.
According to SingleSourceIT Chief Executive Officer Phil Ellett, this increased functionality continues to make the buying and management of IT items easier and faster than the conventional, paper-dependent, purchase order system that can slow down a company with excessive employee time, manual processes and an outdated delivery system.
"We have been providing companies with a streamlined approach to procuring and managing their IT assets over the Web for more than a year, but with our enhanced user interface, we have made that streamlined process more efficient," Ellett said. "When it comes to managing IT, every minute counts. Often times the eSupply chain is a confusing, misdirected system that is inefficient and time consuming. Making the management process easier can make all the difference."
The enhanced interface will:
-- | Make the overall navigation of the site easier for customers by eliminating some steps of the procurement process and reducing time on the site. |
-- | Allow customers to have more flexibility over the reporting format of its company sales activity report. These reports can now be sorted according to specialized customer categories or preferences. Customers can also create their own library and store all their company sales data in their own library or a company wide library. |
-- | Provide a company's order history instantly from an archive, thereby speeding up the return process for unwanted IT items. |
-- | Permit the company's access fee to appear as a separate line item charge on the order. |
-- | Allow customers to order in bundles and see real-time pricing as they add items to their order list. |
-- | Improve shipping data that will make it easier to track orders and use in reporting. |
-- | Provide an enhanced automated forum that will make it easier to send excess equipment out for bid, as well as dispose of all types of scrap equipment. |
-- | Provide an email system that will notify a company's various departments when an order is placed. For example, when a purchasing agent orders 20 new computers, SingleSourceIT will not only verify the order and delivery time, but send copied emails to loading dock personnel to alert them to the delivery, and to technical support personnel who will want to schedule times to install the new equipment. |
The interface upgrade took more than 20 personnel approximately three months to complete.
"SingleSourceIT has always been positioned as a leader in managing the IT lifecycle, and with these enhancements, we are showing our customers and potential clients that we are serious about being the eSupply chain leader and taking IT management to the next level," Ellett said. "Companies not using this automated system are losing money and wasting time."
