Edelbrock Honored for Second Consecutive Year as One of Forbes '200 Best Small Companies'

TORRANCE, Calif.--Oct. 17, 2000--Edelbrock Corporation today announced that it has been selected for the second consecutive year by Forbes magazine as one of the "200 Best Small Companies" in America. The list, which Forbes compiles annually, appears in the publication's October 30, 2000 issue.
Forbes reported that the companies selected for inclusion in the list were required to pass a series of "rigorous financial tests, based on a composite score that measures growth and profitability over the past five years and the latest 12 months." The organizations selected represented a broad cross section of service and manufacturing companies.
"This is a tremendous honor for each of the hard-working Edelbrock employees whose shared commitment to excellence helped generate the solid, long-term growth -- capped by record results for our most recent fiscal year -- that qualified Edelbrock for this elite list," said Edelbrock Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Vic Edelbrock. "We're once again grateful to Forbes for recognizing those achievements for yet another year."
Mr. Edelbrock continued, "The unprecedented and growing interest in motorsports now sweeping the nation, along with America's love affair with the automobile, affords Edelbrock, who is recognized as a leader in the automotive aftermarket, to be in the position to supply this demand to the large consumer base who are eagerly awaiting our vast array of products. This supports our confidence in continuing our previous level of growth," Mr. Edelbrock said.
Founded in 1938, Torrance-based Edelbrock Corp. is recognized as one of the nation's premier designers, manufacturers and distributors of performance replacement parts for the automotive and motorcycle aftermarkets. In addition to three production facilities and an automated distribution center in Torrance, the company owns and operates a state-of-the-art aluminum foundry and its QwikSilver Division for motorcycle aftermarket parts in San Jacinto, Calif., at which it manufactures many of its quality products.
