Senderos, chairman and CEO of DESC, S.A. de C.V., a member of the board. DESC, with sales of $2.3 billion in 1999, is one of the largest industrial groups in Mexico. "The automotive industry grew almost 10 percent in Mexico last year. Fernando's knowledge and experience in this marketplace will be a great asset to Dana as we implement our global growth strategy," said Joe Magliochetti, Dana's chairman and CEO. "He has a wealth of expertise and a unique understanding of our business, and I am extremely pleased to welcome him to our Board." Mr. Senderos, who has nearly 25 years of service with DESC, is a director of some of the most prominent companies in Mexico, including Industrias Penoles (mining), Televisa (media), Telefonos de Mexico (telecommunications), Kimberly Clark de Mexico (consumer goods), and Alfa (industrial conglomerate). He has also been a member of the Mexican Businessmen Council since 1989. Dana Corporation is one of the world's largest suppliers to vehicle manufacturers and their related aftermarkets. Founded in 1904 and based in Toledo, Ohio, the company operates some 320 major facilities in 32 countries and employs more than 80,000 people. The company reported sales of $13.2 billion in 1999.
