Ford Shows Support of Arizona Clean Air Initiatives With Vehicle Donation
PHOENIX, Oct. 16 As part of Ford Motor Company's
environmental commitment to provide future generations with the benefits of
Alternative Fuel Vehicles (AFVs), Ford will donate two factory-built dedicated
Natural Gas Econoline vans to the Boys and Girls Club of Arizona. The event
will take place during the environmentally focused Arizona Clean Air Classic
golf tournament on October 20, 2000 at the Legacy Golf Resort -- sponsored by
Ford with the support of local groups to promote the use of alternative fuels.
The Arizona Clean Air Classic will showcase commitment on the part of Ford
Motor Company, the State of Arizona, the Department of Energy's Clean Cities
program and fuel providers such as Southwest Gas, Clean Fuel USA and BCG
Efuels to help build infrastructure and support Arizona clean air initiatives.
"The event is an opportunity to meet with other groups that are working to
help Arizona meet its clean air initiatives," said Beryl Stajich, Fleet/AFV
Brand Manager for Ford North American Fleet, Leasing and Remarketing
Operations. "Ford has been dedicated to cleaner air through the development
of alternative fuel vehicles for more than thirty years, and is excited to
continue working with the State of Arizona to help achieve their clean air
goals."
The Arizona Clean Air Classic provides a forum for government officials,
local dealerships and local organizations to encourage the use of alternative
fuels to achieve reduced emissions and environmentally responsible cars and
trucks.
Ford factory built alternative fuel vehicles currently available in
Arizona are the dedicated Natural Gas Crown Victoria, Econoline Wagon, and
F-150 pick-up truck and the bi-fuel F-Series SuperDuty trucks. The F-150 is
also available in bi-fuel natural gas and bi-fuel propane versions. All AFV
vehicles include manufacturer limited warranty with 3-year/36,000 mile bumper
to bumper coverage.
