ARCA announces 2001 racing schedule

15 October 2000

Talladega, Ala, 10-13-00 - ARCA Series officials, heading into their
49th season of competition, have released the 2001 schedule to include
24 events in 12 states here today at the Talladega Superspeedway.

Well documented as the world’s most versatile stock car tour, the ARCA
Bondo/Mar-Hyde Series, which will become the ARCA RE/MAX Series in ’01,
will hold true to form with events scheduled at some of the most
prestigious superspeedways combined with an impressive assortment of
short-tracks on both pavement and dirt. In addition, the series will
make its first-ever appearance at the Watkins Glen International road
course circuit to further cement its diverse nature.

New venues in ’01 include two stops at the new Nashville Superspeedway
in Lebanon, Tennessee as well as one stop at the new Chicagoland
Speedway in Joliet, Illinois. ARCA’s premier racing tour will also
return to Gateway International Raceway in Madison, Illinois and to the
Memphis Motorsports Park in Millington, Tennessee.

Traditional ARCA superspeedway races returning in 2001 include events at
Daytona International Speedway, Lowe’s Motor Speedway, Michigan
Speedway, Pocono International Raceway, Talladega Superspeedway and the
Atlanta Motor Speedway. Kentucky Speedway, which first sanctioned the
ARCA series this year, will also return to the schedule with two events
while Michigan Speedway, which traditionally hosts one ARCA event each
year, has added a second ARCA race to its schedule.

Short-tracks back on board for ’01 include Salem and Winchester
Speedways in Indiana, Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan, Toledo Speedway
as well as the dirt fairgrounds miles in Springfield and DuQuoin,
Illinois.

In addition to its share of stand-alone events, the ARCA series will run
companion races with the NASCAR Winston Cup, Busch and Craftsman Truck
Series as well as with the CART Fed Ex and Indy Racing Northern Light
Series.

The ARCA RE/MAX Series kicks off the 2001 season with the 38th annual
Daytona ARCA 200 at Daytona Int’l Speedway on Feb. 11.
