Ducati Motor Holding Announces 16th Consecutive Quarter of Record Revenue Growth
             - Reports 25.5% Third Quarter 2000 Topline Growth -

BOLOGNA, Italy, Oct. 13 Ducati Motor Holding S.p.A.
, a leading manufacturer of high
performance motorcycles, today announced its consolidated revenues for the
third quarter ended September 30, 2000.
For the third quarter, total revenues increased 25.5% to Lit. 111.9
billion (US$50.7 million) from Lit. 89.1 billion (US$40.4 million) during the
same period in the previous year. Motorcycle revenues during the three-month
period increased 18.6% to Lit. 83.5 billion and represented 74.6% of revenues.
Third quarter revenues of motorcycle-related products, including spare parts,
technical accessories and apparel, rose 52.4% to Lit. 27.4 billion.
For the first nine months of 2000, total revenues increased 26.7% to Lit.
532.4 billion from Lit. 420.1 billion in the first nine months of 1999. During
the first nine months of 2000, motorcycle revenues increased 21.4% to Lit.
435.5 billion, and represented 81.8% of sales. During the nine-month period of
2000, revenues from motorcycle-related products rose 46.9% to Lit. 82.4
billion.
"We are proud of the continued strength of our sales during the first
three quarters of 2000," said Carlo Di Biagio, Ducati Chief Executive Officer,
"and this robust performance continues to indicate the success of our
commercial strategies. We are particularly proud of the re-launch of
Ducati.com in the third quarter, and encourage Ducatisti and investors to
visit our dynamic site and become part of the most exciting on-line community
in the motorcycle world."
For the third quarter, motorcycle sales totaled 5,390 units, posting an
11.9% increase over the same period of 1999. During the first nine months of
2000, total motorcycle sales increased 14.9% over the comparable period in the
previous year, with 28,598 units sold.
While official nine-month world registration data are not yet available,
the Company's best estimates suggest that registrations increased 18% during
the first nine months, compared to the same period a year ago, with particular
strength in North America, France, Italy and Japan.
Revenues from the first nine months of 2000 include a positive effect from
favorable exchange rates generated by sales made in US Dollars and Pounds
Sterling during the period. Given our policy of selling forward future cash
flow, however, this will be counter-balanced by exchange losses on forward
contracts.
