SPEC RACER: Larry Mason to Race at Buttonwillow After 2 Yr. Hiatus
13 October 2000
A current track record holder in SRF, Larry Mason is no stranger to Buttonwillow, however its been two years since hes raced there and never on this course configuration. Mason will be competing in a white SRF (car #3) out of the Competition Express stables. Mason has never driven for Comp/EX before, but has admired their clean set-up for many years. "T.J. Acker has won numerous races for Comp/EX and has set multiple track records. I'm looking forward to my first racing experience with them. They've treated my protégé Brad Bernstein very well so hopefully I can reward the team with a victory or two! Ill have two chances to get the job done as its a double regional race weekend, said an enthusiastic Mason. Of special note, Mason will be racing to bring awareness to the Positive Vibrations Youth Mentoring Program. A number of kids from this program are expected to attend their very first race and to cheer Larry on to victory! The race weekend schedule is as follows: Saturday & Sunday Note times are approximate Practice 9:00 a.m. Qualifying 10:30 a.m. RACE (30 min.) 2:30 p.m.
