12 October 2000

Recreation USA Announces New Chief Financial Officer
FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla., Oct. 12 Recreation USA, the
tradename for Holiday RV Superstores, Inc. , has asked W.H.
"Hardee" McAlhaney to return as chief financial officer.
The Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. recreational vehicle and marine national retailer
said that McAlhaney, who spent 10 years as CFO before assuming other
responsibilities in the Company, will oversee all financial operations for
Recreation USA, including credit, audit, accounting and e-commerce. He
replaces Gary Rodney, who resigned as CFO but remains with Recreation USA to
handle special projects.
"Hardee McAlhaney brings more than two decades of retail financial
management expertise and a thorough understanding of the RV dealership
business to the position," said Michael Riley, chairman of Recreation USA.
"I am confident that Hardee will be able to continue efforts to manage costs
and improve operating efficiencies at all levels of the organization."
McAlhaney joined Recreation USA as corporate comptroller in 1988. After
two years in that position, he was promoted to CFO where he spent the next
decade. In July 1999, McAlhaney was appointed as president and chief
executive officer of the Company, which had just launched an aggressive plan
to consolidate the fragmented RV and marine dealership industries. In January
2000, McAlhaney moved to the position of assistant to the chairman, where he
has assisted with strategic planning, acquisition targeting and related
financial matters.
Prior to joining Recreation USA, McAlhaney spent more than 10 years as CFO
for two national retail chains, The Athletic Attic and The Athlete's Foot.
The Athlete's Foot significantly expanded its retail experience during
McAlhaney's tenure, growing to more than 250 stores at the height of the
athletic shoe craze in the 1980s. McAlhaney also served as an investment
counselor with Drexel, Burnham and Lambert in Florida prior to joining
Recreation USA.
A native of South Carolina, McAlhaney holds a B.S.B.A. in management from
the University of Tennessee and an MBA from the University of Florida.
Recreation USA, the nation's only publicly traded chain of RV and boat
dealerships, operates 14 dealership locations in California, Florida,
Kentucky, New Mexico, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. Recreation
USA dealerships sell, service and finance more than 60 RV and 10 boat brands.
The Company also markets its offerings through its Internet site at
