Greg Hutchings resigns from Tomkins

    LONDON--October 12, 2000--Tomkins PLC announces that Greg Hutchings has resigned as a Director and Chief Executive of Tomkins with immediate effect. David Newlands has been appointed Executive Chairman.

David Newlands commented:
