The facility manufactures powder metal components used in non-automotive
applications, primarily in industrial compressors and refrigeration units.
Annual sales for 1999 were approximately $6.6 million. The facility employs
approximately 45 people, and was recently recommended for QS-9000
certification.
"I believe that this divestiture is very positive for both Federal-Mogul
and the people at the Marshall facility," according to Mike Verwilst, senior
vice president, Powertrain Systems-Americas. "This divestiture will enable
Marshall to develop its expertise in industrial applications, while Federal-
Mogul will continue to focus its efforts on providing customers with high-
quality powder metal solutions for automotive applications."
Terms of the agreement were not announced.
