SDRC Expert Al Klosterman Inducted into the CAD/CAM Hall of Fame; Klosterman to be Honored at Penton's IMET 2000 Show

    CINCINNATI--Oct. 10, 2000--SDRC , a global supplier of e-business collaboration solutions for the product lifecycle, today announced Dr. Albert L. Klosterman, former vice president and chief technical officer and general manager of product development at SDRC, was inducted into the Computer-Aided Engineering magazine's CAD/CAM Hall of Fame at Penton's IMET 2000 show in Chicago.
    Dr. Klosterman is honored for his extraordinary foresight in introducing 3D solid modeling to mechanical design, making nonuniform rational B-splines (NURBS) a standard in geometric surface representation, and working with Variational Geometry.
    Dr. Klosterman is one of three individuals inducted. Mike L. Bussler, president and CEO of Algor and Dr. John A. Swanson, founder of ANSYS round out the list of inductees for this year.

    Dr. Klosterman and the other inductees were featured in the September 2000 issue of Computer-Aided Engineering magazine. A similar feature will be included in the October 2000 issue of Machine Design magazine.
    Currently, Dr. Klosterman is semi-retired. He continues to work for SDRC via consulting projects. Additionally, he is assisting CardioEnergetics Inc., developers of heart assisting devices, and Cutanogen Corp., developers of replacement skins for burn victims.
