Owners of older heavy duty trucks, collision repair shops and insurance adjusters can now use this efficient Internet application to locate used and rebuilt cabs, hoods and sleeper units throughout the United States and Canada. This service was previously accessible only to dealership personnel. It is available at http://www.serviceunitlocator.com. Kenworth dealers are using the Service Unit Locator to advertise units for sale to customers beyond the traditional local markets. "With this new option available to customers, dealers are often able to provide repair options, other than new, to get customers' trucks back on the road quicker and at a lower cost," said David Danforth, Kenworth national parts sales manager. "Utilizing the benefits of the Internet, units are added as they become available and deleted as they are sold." Since Kenworth PremierCare provides parts and service for most leading truck makes, the Service Unit Locator is also designed to enable customers to search for makes in heavy- and medium-duty models other than Kenworth. "The website was purposely created to be as simple as a mouse click for the customer. A series of menus enables even novice computer users to just 'click' to the desired information," said Danforth. The site is designed so that minimal typing is needed to navigate through the screens. Pictures of the units are often included. Once reaching the Service Unit Locator home page, simply click on the "Search" button to start the search process. Information can be searched by Kenworth dealer location, truck manufacturer, and by state or province. The Kenworth Service Unit Locator is available on the Internet by clicking to the Kenworth PremierCare Parts & Service website at http://www.paccar.com/ServiceUnit or going to www.paccar.com/kwparts and scrolling down to "Service Unit Locator" on the left side navigation bar.
