Baldor Receives 'Excellence in Manufacturing Technology Achievement Award'FORT SMITH, Ark., Oct. 6 Baldor Electric Company , a leader in the design, manufacture, and marketing of industrial electric motors and drives, was honored with an "Excellence in Manufacturing Technology Achievement Award." The award was presented by American Machinist magazine at a ceremony held during the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) in Chicago from September 6 - 13, 2000. In presenting the award, Thomas J. Grasson, Editor-in-Chief, for American Machinist said, "The companies receiving these awards are the best of the best, according to our readers." The awards were based on surveys conducted of manufacturing managers and engineers in the machine tool and metalworking industries. Baldor received a "Performance and Repeatability" award. According to Tom Grasson, "As companies prepare to make major equipment purchases, they look for reliability, predictability, quality, and overall productivity. The winners in this category have established a high confidence level." Baldor's exhibit at IMTS included industrial motors and drives, servo and motion control products, and linear motors and controls.
