Delphi Delco Electronics Receives First Place Award At Indiana Black Expo's Summer Celebration
    KOKOMO, Ind., Oct. 6 Delphi Delco Electronics Systems
recently was awarded the First Place Booth Award for its exhibit at the
Indiana Black Expo Summer Celebration held at the Indiana Convention Center
and RCA Dome in Indianapolis.  The Delphi exhibit received the highest award
recognition for achieving the overall best ratings in the areas of product
display, presentation, volunteers, originality and effectiveness.
    "It is extremely gratifying to receive this special recognition," said
Dave Bastin, Delphi Delco Electronics Systems director of Marketing.  "In
short, it says that our people, products and innovation are perceived as
leaders in these important areas, which is a high honor for our entire
organization."
    Delphi displayed some of its mobile multimedia products at the event that
included smart radios that bring more information, communication and
entertainment into the vehicle.  These radios include features like
navigation, Internet, e-mail, integrated telephone and phone book.  In
addition, Delphi displayed a cut-away van showcasing its rear-seat
entertainment systems that offers rear-seat passengers a choice of DVD movies
or electronic games.
    This year marked the 30th anniversary of the Indiana Black Expo Summer
Celebration, which is the largest nationally acclaimed exposition of Black
achievement held annually in Indiana.  The weeklong event draws more than
500,000 people to Indianapolis for a combination of business, professional,
cultural, religious, sports and entertainment activities.  The theme for 2000
was "Building New Legacies Towards the Future."
